Map a process across teams or roles with the Swimlane component, generated with AI on your MockFlow board.

Updated 9 Oct 20261 min read

A swimlane diagram is a flowchart split into lanes, one for each team, role or system. It shows not only the steps of a process but who owns each one and where work passes between people.

Generating an employee onboarding swimlane across HR, the hiring manager and IT

Generate a swimlane with AI

  1. Click Add anything (the plus button) in the toolbar at the bottom of the board, search for Swimlane and add it.

  2. Select the swimlane and click the AI button on the left of its toolbar.

  3. Describe the process and who takes part, for example "Employee onboarding across HR, IT and the manager", and click the send button.

AI names a lane for each role and places the steps, decisions and connectors in the right lanes.

Name the teams or roles in your prompt. AI uses them as the lanes.
