As your work in MockFlow grows, the workspace sidebar helps you get back to any board quickly. You can search by name, keep the boards you use most in Favorites, and pick up recent work from Recents, all without leaving the canvas. For a tour of the whole sidebar, see [The workspace sidebar](/docs/workspace-sidebar).

## Search for a board or space

1. Click **Search projects** (1) at the top of the sidebar and type part of a board or space name.
2. The sidebar filters as you type (2). Matching boards stay in view and the spaces that hold them open. When a space name matches, all of its boards are listed.
3. Click a board to open it, or clear the search box to see the full sidebar again.

Search covers your Private boards, every space you belong to and Trash Bin. When nothing matches, the sidebar shows **No matching projects**.

## Open a board

Click a board in the sidebar to open it on the canvas. The board you are working on is highlighted, so you can always see where it sits.

To keep the current board open and open another one beside it, hold **Shift** while you click, or use **Open in new tab** from the board's menu, described below.

## Use the board menu to open, favorite and locate boards

Point to a board in the sidebar and click the **More options** button (1) that appears at the end of its row. The top of the menu shows who created the board and when it was created and last updated. From the menu you can:

- **Open in new tab** (2): open the board in a new browser tab, leaving the current board open.
- **Open its space** (3): open the space that holds the board and bring the board into view. This appears for boards in Favorites and Recents.
- **Add to favorites** (4): star the board so it appears in Favorites.

The menu also holds actions for managing the board, such as **Rename**, **Change icon**, **Duplicate** and **Delete**. Which actions you see depends on your role in the board's space.

## Keep important boards in Favorites

Favorites gives the boards you use most a permanent place at the top of the sidebar.

1. Open the board's **More options** menu and choose **Add to favorites**.
2. **Favorites** appears at the top of the sidebar, with the newest star first.
3. To take a board out, open its menu again and choose **Remove from favorites**.

A board you star stays in its space as well, so favoriting never moves it. If you lose access to a starred board, it drops out of Favorites.

## Return to recent work with Recents

**Recents** lists the boards updated most recently, across your Private boards and the spaces you belong to. It is a quick way to return to work in progress, including boards your teammates have been editing.

## Show or hide the sidebar

To give the canvas more room, click **Close sidebar** at the top left of the sidebar, or press `Ctrl + \` (`⌘ + \` on Mac). Press the shortcut again, or click the small tab on the left edge of the window, to bring the sidebar back.
