> Generate a mind map with AI on your MockFlow board, add topics with the keyboard and change its theme and layout.

A mind map starts from one central idea and branches out into topics and details. In MockFlow the **MindMap** component lives right on the board, so you can brainstorm a plan, a lesson or a campaign beside the rest of your work.

## Generate a mind map with AI

1. Click **Add anything** (the plus button) in the toolbar at the bottom of the board and choose **MindMap**.
2. With the mind map selected, click the AI button on the left of its toolbar and choose **Generate new**.
3. Describe the topic, for example "Launch plan for a neighborhood bakery", and click the send button.

The AI menu also has **Modify with AI**, to add or rework branches with a prompt, and **Convert to**, to turn the mind map into another kind of item on the board.

## Add and edit topics

Click the hand button on the mind map to work inside it, then select a topic.

| Key | Action |
| --- | --- |
| Tab | Add a subtopic |
| Enter | Add a topic after this one |
| Shift+Enter | Add a topic before this one |
| F2 or double-click | Edit the topic's text |
| Delete or Backspace | Remove the topic |

- **Change Theme:** restyle every branch at once, with themes such as Graphite, Blueprint and Candy.
- **Change align type:** grow branches on both sides, or only to the left, right or top.
- **Export MindMap:** save the map as an image.

> **Plan** The MindMap component is available on every plan. Generating with AI uses AI credits. See [MockFlow pricing](https://mockflow.com/pricing/).
