A customer journey map follows one experience from start to finish, stage by stage: what the customer does, how they feel and where things could be better. The **CustomerJourneyMap** component lays this out as a grid, with stages across the top and a section for each kind of detail.

## Generate a journey map with AI

1. Click **Add anything** (the plus button) in the toolbar at the bottom of the board, search for **journey** and add the CustomerJourneyMap.
2. Select it, click the AI button on the left of its toolbar and choose **Generate new**.
3. Describe the experience, for example "Booking a hotel room online", and click the send button.

AI names the stages and fills every section, including a satisfaction curve that rises and dips across the journey.

## Add stages and sections

Click the hand button on the journey map to work inside it.

- **Add Stage:** add a step to the journey, at the end of the stage row.
- **Add Section:** add a row of detail under the stages.
- **Section type:** choose what a section holds: **Text**, **Icon**, **Image** or **Graph**, the curve used for satisfaction.

> **Tip** Use **Modify with AI** to add a persona's view or a new stage, and **Convert to** to turn the journey into another kind of item on the board.

> **Plan** The CustomerJourneyMap component is available on every plan. Generating with AI uses AI credits. See [MockFlow pricing](https://mockflow.com/pricing/).
