# Change selected items with Mida

> Select items on your board and ask Mida to sort, convert, merge or rewrite them, for example turning two tables into a kanban.

Mida can work on what is already on your board. Select a few items and say what you want: turn two tables of action items into a kanban by owner, convert a list into a mind map, merge notes into a flowchart, or rewrite the copy in a wireframe. Mida reads the items first, so the result keeps your real content.

## Ask Mida about a selection

1. Select two or more items, for example by dragging a box around them.
2. Click **Ask AI about this selection** (1) at the end of the toolbar.
3. Type what you want in the field that opens, for example _Turn the action items into a kanban grouped by owner_, and press Enter.

Mida opens with your selection attached, examines each item and builds the result. The selected items stay as they are, so you can compare the result with the original.

## Things you can ask

- **Convert:** _Turn this list into a mind map_, _Make these steps a flowchart_, _Show these numbers as a bar chart_
- **Sort and group:** _Group these ideas into themes_, _Sort these tasks by priority_
- **Merge:** _Combine these tables into one_, _Make one roadmap from these plans_
- **Rewrite:** _Make the copy on this screen shorter_, _Translate these labels into Spanish_

## Ask Mida about one item

To focus on a single item, select it, open its AI menu in the toolbar and choose **Ask Mida**. Mida shows a **Scope** chip with the item's name, so every request in the chat applies to that item until you click **Remove scope**. The same menu also has **Generate new** and **Modify with AI** for changes to that item alone.
