Automations are part of the **Max** plan. This article explains the monthly allowance, how runs use AI credits and what you can do on other plans.

## Automations on each plan

| | Basic | Plus | Max |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Look through templates and build an automation | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Save, turn on and run automations | No | No | Yes |
| Shape an automation from a sentence | No | No | Yes |
| Runs a month | None | None | 60 |
| Apps other than Slack and Trello | No | No | Yes |
| Choose the AI model | No | No | Yes |
| Save team automation templates | No | Yes | Yes |

On Basic and Plus, the Automations page explains: _Automations are part of the Max plan. You can look through the templates and build one, but it can't be saved or run until you upgrade._ Saving, trying, running or shaping an automation opens **Automate your boards** with **See plans** and **Not now**. See [pricing](https://mockflow.com/pricing/).

## What counts as a run

The Max plan includes **60 runs a month**. Only runs that make or change a board count. A skipped run, such as one that finds nothing new, does not count.

Each automation also has its own cap, **Runs per month, at most**, under **More options** in its builder. It is 30 by default and cannot be set above your plan's monthly runs. Use it to keep a busy automation, such as one that runs on every new Slack message, from using up the month.

![The usage line at the top of the Automations page: Max plan, 23 of 60 runs used this month, AI credits left and the reset date](https://assets.mockflow.com/docs/media/c540367da7dd408da5d3acc6979675e8.webp)

The top of the Automations page shows where you are: your plan, how many runs you have used this month, how many AI credits are left and when both reset. The builder warns you when an automation can run many times a day or would stop after a few days at its current pace.

## How runs use AI credits

Runs use your AI credits, the same credits Mida uses. How many depends on the choice under **How**:

| How | AI credits |
| --- | --- |
| **AI makes it** | Uses AI credits; the amount depends on what it makes |
| **AI makes it from your picks** | Uses AI credits |
| **AI fills in the details** | Uses 1 AI message |
| **Add each {item} as it is** | No credits |
| Run with your **Local Agent** through MockFlow Bridge | No credits |

Each run in **History** shows how many AI credits it used. For ways to use fewer credits, see [Run automations with your own AI and save AI credits](/docs/run-automations-with-your-own-ai). Turning a sentence into a draft with **Shape it** does not use AI credits.

## When the month runs out

When your monthly runs or your AI credits are used up, runs are skipped until they reset. Both allowances reset on the first of each month.

## Limits on automations

- You can keep up to 50 automations. Delete ones you no longer need to make room.
- A team can keep up to 200 automation templates.
- History shows up to the last 50 runs of an automation.
- If your account moves off the Max plan, your automations are turned off. They keep their settings and history, so you can turn them on again after upgrading.
