What is MockFlow?
MockFlow is an online tool to design and collaborate User Interface mockups for websites and software.
What sets it apart?
Un-like typical wireframe software, MockFlow aims at producing clean looking mockups in the shortest time possible and also provides
built-in tools for collaboration. For a detailed feature list read "Wireframe Features" in the homepage
Where is my data and how safe it is?
All your data and images are securely hosted using World-Class Amazon Web Services. We take
in very little private information about you and store your password in encrypted format with Industry standard security practices.
To ensure safety, all the data is backed up multiple times and stored in different locations.
About uptime?
We use large instances of Amazon EC2 which each have 7.5 GB memory, 4 GHz processor (4 ECU)
and elastic storage space with the best I/O disk performance. Also the system allows us to easily scale based on resource demand. So it is ensured that
the best performance is delivered for your mockup experience at all times.
Besides we monitor the servers in real-time using NewRelic, ChartBeat and Pingdom web services round the clock.
What about support?
Thanks to MockFlow's intuitive interface, you can ddesign and share wireframes with minimal learning curve. For support you can always contact us at mockflow@produle.com
regarding any issues, feature requests or questions about it. Also you can query questions directly via the feedback box available in the application itself (accessed from the top menu).
Can I change the associated email ID?
Yes you can always change the email ID associated with your MockFlow account. Login to your account and in the dashboard; click 'My Account'->'Edit profile' to
perform this operation.
Can I delete my MockFlow account?
All your data and account details at MockFlow.com can be permanently deleted by logging in and selecting 'My Account'->'Edit Profile'. No questions asked.
I cannot run MockFlow in iPhone/iPad?
Since these devices do not support flash, it is not possible to run MockFlow directly. However you can use a Free VM tool such as TeamViewer.com to
run MockFlow in iPhone/iPad. We have tested it and it runs fine. Besides we are working on native iPad version of MockFlow to be released
on August 2010.
I am a Google Apps user but cannot login using Desktop Client?
If your are a google apps user and want to directly use MockFlow, then enter your Google Apps email ID and some dummy password (not google apps) at the login box.
The Authentication will fail and displays a 'Forgot?' button. Clicking that button will help you create a new password for MockFlow. Which subsequently be used for
logging in at http://app.mockflow.com or via the Desktop Client.
How to upgrade my MockFlow account?
Your MockFlow account can be upgraded to a premium edition or a multi-user Team Pack by selecting 'My Account'->'Upgrade' option
from the dashboard.
Is there a trial available?
The free basic edition of MockFlow provides all the features of it with some restrictions like 1 mockup, and 10 MB storage limit. So using
the free edition is a perfect way to know about the software including sharing, collaboration etc. There is no time limit involved, so you upgrade
at your will.
I do not want a PayPal account, what should I do?
MockFlow uses PayPal the leader in online transactions as its Payment gateway. However for users who
do not want to create a PayPal account for managing their MockFlow subscriptions they can email us asking for an e-invoice.
How an upgrade subscription works?
The subscriptions are renewed yearly, they can be cancelled anytime to prevent payment for the following year.
I am upgrading to Premium, now what if my Collaborator has a Basic account?
In that case the collaborator as a Co-editor of your mockup can view/edit all pages but with a Basic account that person cannot add
additional pages to that mockup. This small restriction can be however removed by purchasing 'Team Pack' or if that collaborator upgrades
to Premium.
What happens when my account is downgraded to Basic?
When your subscription period ends, we will alert you about it. If it is not renewed then that account will be downgraded to basic where
all the restrictions of it will come into place, however all your data is archived and will not be deleted, so you can choose to come back and upgrade
your account when you need to.
What do you mean by "Free archival for mockups"?
As described in the previous question. All your data is archived for Free even if you downgrade to basic later.
What is the difference between Web and Desktop clients?
The desktop client is basically an extension of the web client that provides all
web features plus improved performance, native keyboard shortcuts and offline sync. If you are going to spend a lot of time wireframing, we recommend
you to use the Desktop client. It is available for both Win and Mac OS.
What is OfflineSync in MockFlow Desktop?
As you work on your mockups using the MockFlow Desktop client, it automatically saves an offline copy in your computer's disk. So all mockups
that have offline copy can be viewed, edited and exported even when there is no Internet connection. And you can optionally sync back your offline changes
when Internet connection resumes.
MockFlow does not support Russian/Asian/Cyrillic characters?
The default anti-aliased font in MockFlow does not have the above mentioned character sets. Inorder to display them you can use
the "Font Settings" to change to any system font like 'Arial'. The "Font settings" are available in the top menu after opening the mockup.
What is Real-Time collaboration?
Real-time collaboration in MockFlow enables Reviewers to watch any changes made to a mockup in real-time and also multiple
co-editors of a mockup can put together their changes as good as a design meeting. MockFlow includes "Team Chat" for efficient communication during such
collaboration. See a video demo here.
Note: The changes will be broadcasted to your collaborators only after you hit the 'save' button.
Changes are overlapped during Real-Time Collaboration?
When multiple co-editors have opened the mockup at the same time. It is advisable for one of the co-editors to lock the editor (using the 'Editor Lock' button in 'Team Chat' window)
to prevent other editors from making changes. When that co-editor has finished editing, he can save the mockup and release that lock for other co-editors to
use.
What is MockStore?
MockStore is an user community addon for MockFlow that lists a growing library of extra components and read-made templates.
Clicking the MockStore icon in the editor opens it where you can search hundreds of items and click to import them to your mockup. It's that simple.
What is LayoutBuilder and how can I create HTML/CSS layouts?
LayoutBuilder is a component used for creating flexible layout designs which can be either used as a background stencil
for laying out other components on top of it or it can be also exported to an actual HTML/CSS tableless layout code for use in your webpages.
What are Revisions?
As the name suggests as you build/update your mockup design, you can create multiple "save points" called revisions. These revisions can be
previewed and even restored back.
I lost my mockup changes what should I do?
MockFlow automatically saves your work in the background by creating auto-revisions, so even when you forgot/unable to 'save' the changes,
you can always recover your unsaved work by previewing and restoring auto-revisions from the 'Revision History' located in the top menu.
How to duplicate/'save as' a project?
In the dashboard, single-click on a mockup thumbnail and select 'Duplicate' from the menu to create a copy of an existing mockup.
How to copy pages between mockup projects?
Open the page you want to copy and from its settings click the button "Save Page to MockStore/File", and choose file. This saves the page as a *.mlib
file. Then open the mockup project you want to add that page. Create a new blank page in that mockup and click "File->Component Data->Import" to import the *.mlib file
to that blank page.
I am editor of a mockup but MockFlow won't let me make changes?
This happens when a collaborator of that mockup owns the editor control during a real-time collaboration. Inorder to force regain editor control, Open the Team
Chat window and click the 'un-lock' icon at the top.
Why there is no AutoSave in MockFlow?
While the purpose is to prevent unintended changes in your mockup being saved, MockFlow actually autosaves all your work in the background
as a revision. So incase you forgot/unable to save your work, you can always use the "Revision History" for accessing the unsaved changes.
MockFlow Desktop hangs at startup displaying 'Loading'?
If it shows the 'Loading' message for long period, then probably a recent update is causing this issue. To solve this: Uninstall MockFlow and uninstall Adobe AIR (if possible) and then delete this folder
(for Mac) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/MockFlow or (for Windows, enable 'Show Hidden Folders') drivename://username/AppData/Local/Adobe/AIR/ELS/MockFlow
And do a fresh install of MockFlow.
How to reset Password?
Forgot your password? To reset the password enter your MockFlow email ID and some dummy password and try to login. The Authentication will fail
and displays a 'Forgot?' button. Clicking this button will help you reset your password.
How to Logout from MockFlow Desktop?
MockFlow Desktop saves your account information locally to prevent manual entry each time. If you want to logout or use MockFlow Desktop with a
different account then this what you do:
